 I’m finishing up the second installment of my zine MEDICOLEGAL COYOTE’S FORENSIC MEDICOLEGAL MUSINGS.

I got a bottle of Kuretake’s fluid graphite, and so far it’s been fun. I love using Faber-Castell’s Graphite Aquarelle pencils- this stuff takes it a step farther into drips and blobs and general messiness. Love it!

Here I’ve made some marks and drips with acrylic paint and then painted the figures with the liquid graphite.

Making Some Zines

 I’m trying my hand at making some zines. First, I’m giving Medicolegal Coyote a go. I’m hoping to do these as an ongoing thing- hopefully there will be several Forensic Fascicles in The Coyote’s future.

The second zine is a love story- two Dick Maggots©️ meet and become Maggot Kings©️!

Sculpture: “Under Siege: Calliphora vs Creophilus”

 Five Calliphorid maggots left their large maggot mass to feed at a small defect that looked especially good to them. They took a great risk leaving the mass, as now they were more at risk from the fierce maggot-eating Creophilus beetles. The sculpture shows the moment just before the beetles attacked.

Works In Progress: Paintings, a Copper Disk, and a Dick Maggot

 I’ve got a few oil paintings I’m working on: Untitled (chair), two Maggot Kings, and a Sea Maggots meet Maggot King.

I’m doing some simple chasing and repousse work on a copper disk for another multi-media painting. Like the cartouche I did recently on a version of Maggot King (June 5, 2023 post). It’s going to be Maggot Kings, and the copper medallion will be of the Dick Maggots. Very elevated stuff really.
