[S]tache Noir Sclerotique -Watercolor Study for a Designer Toy Character

    Watercolor study on paper.

[S]tache is a character I hope to do as a designer toy. He showed up in one of my 2013
Moleskine Journal along with several other toy drawings that I thought might make up a
group of postmortem superheroes I'd call THANATOYS (or the ThanaTeam ?!).

ThanaRangers! Decomp' Up!

Tache noir sclerotique is the drying of the eyes after death. Normally the decedent's eyes are partially open. When the orbicularis oculi muscles are relaxed, it creates the palpebral fissure which exposes the eyes to the air. This dries out the eye surface, and causes a brown to black line across the eyes.

The Maggot King of Tarf

Chrysomya was the Maggot King of Tarf
and ruled the best corpse on the forested river bluff.
He had defeated his enemy Phaenicia
at the Battle of Tarf-Thorax.

That made Chrysomya the ruler of his mass,
and the larval mass at Perineum too!
Then the King was forced to pupate,
and later there was eclosion.

And when the Maggot King of Tarf
emerged from his amber-colored puparium,
he was still Chrysomya, but no longer larval.
Chrysomya was Maggot King no more.

He was just a God-damned fly!

Corgi Pic and Poem

Corgi's gonna do,
what Corgi wants to do.

I can ask,
and I can tell.

But Corgi's gonna do,
What Corgi wants to do.

I can plead,
and I can yell.

But Corgi's gonna do,
What Corgi wants to do.

Just when I've had quite enough,
she rolls upon her back.

And then her eyes meet mine to say:
"a tummy rub will do!".

Watercolor

On vacation in southern Oregon.
I found a little table to spread out my art
stuff and move some paint around in a
Sketchbook.
